Is the 1900 Park Fare Disney Character Breakfast Worth It? An Honest Review
Character meals at Walt Disney World is one of the ways to get some character interactions without waiting in line. But is it worth the money?

My Experience at 1900 Park Fare
I recently tried the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I had done it YEARs ago when the other characters like Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter were there, but hadn’t been back since they updated with new characters. I have done many different character breakfasts from Chef Mickey’s to Tusker House and Topolinos to name a few, so it’s always interesting for me to compare. I’ve done a whole blog of the best breakfast ideas for your Walt Disney World vacation.
The Atmosphere
We were one of the first tables to be seated that morning so as we walked in we had a great view of most of the dining room without other people in it. It was large, bright and inviting.

How the Character Dining Works
Typically with these character buffets, when you are seated the server will come to take your drink order and then tell you to go to the buffet. They have it pretty well timed with the characters so that they’re seating people in sections so they’re all at the same “stage” of their meals when the characters start coming out.
The Food at 1900 Park Fare Breakfast Buffet
The buffet has a great selection of good food with of course all of the basics including my favorite items like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and Mickey shaped waffles. They also had fun things like bread pudding, strawberry soup, cheesy potato casserole and cups of gummy bears! You can’t go wrong with a breakfast buffet with quality food, it’s a great way to start the day.

The beauty of the breakfast buffet is you can keep going back for more until you’re full. Although I warn against trying to start a full park day on a full belly!

The Character Interactions & Photo Tips
It’s always interesting at each different character dining venue to see where the characters will go/stand for pictures when they come to your table. They don’t leave a ton of space between the tables, they’re trying to get as many people in the restaurants as possible – so every inch counts.

The Characters You’ll Meet:
- Aladdin
- Cinderella
- Mirabel
- Princess Tiana
I tried a few different “spots” with the characters.

With Tiana and Mirabel I stayed seated and they stood behind me. I think they turned out ok that way.

Although I do wish I was smiling more in the one with Tiana! She was stunning – the pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful she was. If I’m honest though I wish they had her in a better outfit, it’s not my favorite outfit that she has.
When Aladdin came out I was just getting back from the buffet, so I was already standing.

And of course with Cinderella in that dress – it had to be a standing shot!

To me, the characters are a bit of a hodge podge – I’m not clear WHY these 4 are together. I get that it’s all about “wishes” and their stories revolve around that – but don’t MOST of the Disney movies revolve around wishes of some kind? By that logic they could have Gepetto in here too!
The Wish Ceremony — A Unique Finale
While everyone focuses on the character interactions, there’s a completely separate experience element at the end of our meal, the wish ceremony.
The wish ceremony is a brief moment involving all guests, it’s designed for children but creates a memorable “closing” to the meal that’s unique to this venue. It’s super cute and the kids will love it! You also have an autograph card on your table with the 4 signatures on it.

Final Verdict: Is 1900 Park Fare Worth It?
So all in all what did I think of this character experience? It was ok, I wouldn’t say that it was my favorite character meal. I would have preferred to have different Disney characters that felt like they ‘went together’ better. I get that they’re themed around the power of a wish, but that thread just didn’t seem to be strong to me.
If one of these characters (or multiples) are your favourite then it’s a great way to have a meal and meet them without the lines. It’s near the Magic Kingdom (just a Monorail ride or short walk away), so it can be something that you do before you head to the park for the day. Is this one of the best options for a character meal? That’s debatable.
1900 Park Fare Breakfast Pricing
The current cost for breakfast is $58 per adult and $37 per child, plus tax and gratuity. If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan this breakfast will use 1 table service credit. Both the price and the dining credits can change so you should always check the My Disney Experience App before you go.
The Bottom Line
Am I glad I experienced it? Did I have a good time? Absolutely! But this was probably a one and done for me. If you’d like to hear about this trip you can hear my full review on Podcast Episode 275.
