What’s it REALLY like to stay at the Drury?

Drury Hotel - Disney Springs Shuttle to Disney Parks

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that I generally always stay on site when I visit Walt Disney World, but the Drury had me very curious – could I like staying at a non-Disney hotel?

Check-in was not only a breeze, but was very pleasant.  The front desk staff were SO friendly and informative.  They explained all of the amenities available at the resort as if it was their first time saying it (can you imagine how many times per day they have to say all of that spiel?).

I headed off to my room, and while I had seen pictures online – I didn’t understand how big it was until I was standing in that space.

I was sharing with my friend for 2 nights and we had plenty of room for both of us.  We were in room 412 and had 2 queen beds, a desk, a table and 2 chairs, a ‘kitchenette’ and a large bathroom.

After exploring the room, I went down to finish looking around the hotel.  The amenities here are plenty!

10 fantastic amenities at the Drury Plaza Hotel – Disney Springs

1. Free Wi-Fi is always a plus and it worked well

2. 24 Hour fitness center for those of you that think you need EXTRA exercise on vacation

3. Outdoor pool and splash pad that never seemed to be overly busy in the 2 days we were there.  I wish I had the time to enjoy it, but it was such a quick visit.

4.  24 hour arcade!  C’mon – who doesn’t love a good arcade?

5. Shuttle to the Disney parks is complimentary and available onsite.  I didn’t get a chance to use this either but nice to know it was there.  Fun fact of this resort is that they are the only offsite that has shuttles for the after hours events and parties at Walt Disney World!

6. Full bar with kitchen – this was not busy at all but so convenient to have in the hotel.

7. Store with everything you could possibly need including fresh made pizza to go!  They also have bottled water, juices, microwave meals, mugs and souvenirs.  They even have Starbucks coffee!

8. Free coffee and tea bar in the lobby next to a great photo spot!

9.  FREE hot breakfast you say?  When I heard about this I imagined some toast and tea, but this was a full on breakfast.  I have to do a full other blog to show you ALL the things that were available during this breakfast!

10.  FREE 5:30 Kickback. This is a fun FREE evening event for those staying at the hotel available from 5:30 – 7:30 nightly.  While they say it’s “hot dinnertime snacks” the selection could be considered a FULL dinner.  You also get 3 free alcoholic drinks and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks.

The Kickback and free breakfast are incredible values at this resort.  If you can arrange to take advantage of it for even a few nights of your stay it can save you some money to spend on souvenirs!

Would I recommend this hotel?  Absolutely – and I loved being close to Disney Springs as well.  I’m an Uber/Lyft gal and don’t take the shuttles much, but being so close meant cheaper rides and a lot more convenience.  You CAN walk to Disney Springs, but it was super hot and I had met my step quota for the trip!

This is the type of hotel that I would go back to and just spend a few days “chilling”.  Enjoying the pool, the bar, Disney Springs and visiting the outlet malls.  This would be the perfect home base for that!  I would also recommend this hotel to families who are visiting the Disney Parks who don’t want to stay onsite.
